What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty with Dr. Landon Pryor involves reducing the labia majora, labia minora, or both. It can also address excess tissue around the clitoris. The overall goal of the procedure is to achieve a more attractive intimate appearance while relieving any discomfort you may experience while wearing clothes or engaging in physical activity.

Labiaplasty is an intimate cosmetic surgery that is designed to improve the appearance of a woman’s genitals. It’s a commonly requested procedure after childbirth and as women get older.

Is Labiaplasty Right for You?

Choosing to undergo labiaplasty is a highly personal decision. If your labial tissue is concerning, physically uncomfortable, or embarrassing, you may want to consider this procedure. In general, we have found that the best labiaplasty candidates are women who:

  • Have enlarged and/or asymmetrical labial tissue
  • Want to reduce excess tissue around the clitoris
  • Experience discomfort during intercourse and physical activity

Your Surgical Options

Labiaplasty is a highly customizable procedure with a number of surgical techniques depending on the precise outcomes you want to achieve. During your initial consultation, Dr. Pryor will review the different techniques with you in detail to determine which one is in your best interest. Here is a closer look at the labiaplasty surgical options that are available:

Labia Minora

There are a number of methods available for reducing the inner lips. Dr. Pryor can excise excess tissue through a discreet incision in the area or he can cut away excess tissue along the length of the labia.

Labia Majora

There are also many different ways to tighten the outer lips. This area can be addressed non-surgically with ultrasound or radiofrequency treatments, or via surgery through a well-hidden incision in the area.

Clitoris

Many of our Rockford, IL patients choose to undergo a clitoral hoodectomy during their labiaplasty. This procedure involves removing part of the tissue that covers the clitoris to increase sexual stimulation.
