Permalip Lip Augmentation
July 10, 2017
There are two main reasons why people become interested in lip augmentation. First, they were born with the lips that they do not feel satisfied with. The second reason is because the aging process is taking a toll on a person’s lips. As we get older, we lose facial fat, including fat in our lips. This causes the lips to look thin and to have wrinkles. There are quite a few different options for lip augmentation that are available today. One of these is Permalip® lip augmentation. Let’s take a closer look at this innovative lip enhancement technique.
What Is Permalip®?
Permalip® is a silicon implant that can be inserted into one or both lips to make them permanently fuller. The implant can be adjusted in size and placement to give you exactly the results you want to see. Combine that with a procedure that lasts just 30 minutes and long-lasting results, and it’s easy to see why Permalip® lip augmentation has become so popular.
How Should I Prepare for Permalip® Lip Augmentation?
You will want to gather some items that will be useful when you return home after the procedure. Make sure that you have a gel pack or ice cubes to use as a cold compress after the surgery. In addition, you may need ointment to lubricate the lips. You’re going to need to stop taking blood thinning drugs about two weeks before the surgery. Our plastic surgeon may have some recommendations on certain medications to take in the hours right before the procedure begins.
What Should I Do on the Day of the Procedure?
It is good for you to wash your face, but you should not apply any makeup. It is best if you just rest on the day of your Permalip® lip augmentation procedure. You will need to have someone drive you home after the implantation.
Most patients are completely satisfied with their Permalip® lip augmentation. It adds volume to their lips and helps them achieve a mouth that is much more defined and fuller. If for any reason you do not feel satisfied with the way you look after treatment, the implant can be removed. Of course, this is a surgical procedure, so you can learn more about what it involves during your consultation with our specialist.
